Doggy feedback!

Hodge's owner, Hayley, says,  "I made the spaghetti and meatballs but went child version and hid the veg inside the meatballs.

He absolutely smashed them! I broke them up as he has a habit of taking large things out of his bowl and breaking it up on the floor haha.

I also baked them as knew it would be easier to get them cooked through thoroughly :)"

Spaghetti & Meatball Recipe

Beef liver and cinnamon complement kangaroo in this recipe, offering a metabolism booting and nutrient rich combo.

Lean vegetables add a low calorie source of antioxidants, while chia and flax seeds offer fibre and help your dog stay full for longer.

INGREDIENTS

• 600gm kangaroo mince
• 60gm beef liver, finely diced
• 100gm eggs, beated
• 70gm zucchini
• 70gm carrot
• 60gm tomatoes, diced
• 5gm parsley, chopped
• 10gm sunflower oil
• 9gm flaxseeds, ground
• 9gm chia seeds
• 6gm eggshell/calcium
• 1gm cinnamon
• 0.5gm kelp powder

METHOD

  1. Using a julienne peeler or spiraliser, make noodles out of the zucchini and carrots

  2. If you don’t have a julienne peeler or spiraliser you can grate the vegetables and sautee, or simply add them to the meat mixture

  3. Grind the flax seeds in a coffee grinder and place in a small bowl with the chia seeds

  4. Stir 1/4 cup of water into the seeds and allow to thicken (add more if required to make a paste)

  5. Place everything except the tomato, carrot and zucchini noodles in a bowl and mix thoroughly to combine

  6. Using your hands, form meatballs with the mixture

  7. Sautee the noodles with the diced tomato and set aside

  8. Pan or airfry the meatballs if cooking

  9. Serve the raw or cooked meatballs with some of the vegetable mixture
